It is hard to believe that it is already March. We have one more week until March Break(March 16th-20th). This week is Spirit Week and see the link below for the exciting themed days:

Language Arts:
On a daily basis, each student works on their independent reading and shared reading as well. Grade 3 students are just finishing up their procedural writing. See the picture below for some of them topics that they chose. You can also see the criteria that we came up with as a class to evaluate this piece of writing.
We have weekly sight words that we add to our word wall every week. Last week's words were: over, under, should, could, would. This weeks sight words are: remember, forget, less, more, win, lose.
Our next writing task will be to construct a paragraph using the Hamburger template to guide us.

Math
We have been working on Measurement for the last couple of weeks and focussing on the Kilometer(km), Meter(m)and Centimeter(cm)
We will be continuing with Measurement for the next few weeks as well. Please see the pictures above for areas that we will be covering.
We also make use of Zorbits Math which can be found on the student portal for home practice. Also, students participate in class through the use of the math learning carpet, math stations for extra practice and weekly math games to enhance their learning.
